Buckets for Honey

Postby dkayser » Tue Jul 13, 2010 6:30 am

If anyone is looking for buckets to store honey, Pricecutter's bakery has large buckets that have the same diameter of a standard 5 gal bucket. The reason I bring this up is because I had a hard time finding some that will fit for the plastic strainers. They're free for the asking. The only thing you have to do is clean them out. FYI, Wal-mart doesn't give them away any more, they claim they recycle them (At lease the Wal-marts in Springfield).

Lamars Donuts have buckets sometimes. They do charge for them, but are relatively clean. Last ones I got were around $5 for 3 gallon size. Plenty heavy full of honey!
