Become a Member

Anyone who keeps bees, or simply finds them interesting, is welcome. Membership is the easiest way to learn beekeeping in the Ozarks.

Why join

What membership gives you

  • The monthly newsletter — timely reminders of what to do in the hive this month, club events, upcoming classes and items of interest to beekeepers.
  • Monthly meetings with a guest speaker and an open question-and-answer session before the meeting starts.
  • Experienced mentors — people who have kept bees through Ozarks winters and will tell you what actually works here.
  • Field days where you open hives alongside other beekeepers instead of reading about it.
  • The equipment auction, held every other year — the cheapest way in the region to kit out a new hive.
  • The opportunity to be placed on the swarm list — this isn’t included in the membership fee, so ask us if you’d like swarm calls sent your way.

How to join

There are three ways to sign up:

  1. Come to one of our meetings. We’ll have a registration form there and we’ll be able to assist you with any questions you might have.
  2. Attend our annual beginning beekeeping class. We’ll have a registration opportunity there, and a year of club membership is included in the class fee.
  3. Email reqinfo@ozarksbeekeepers.org or call 417-319-1539 and we’ll send you what you need.

Dues

Membership is $25 a year — one rate, whether you’re joining on your own or as a household. That includes the monthly newsletter, meetings, field days and the auction.

Pay online with the PayPal code opposite, or in person at a meeting. Paying by cheque? Email Treasurer@ozarksbeekeepers.org and we’ll send you the postal address.
